Update

I have had a hard time posting things this new year. I think I just get so used to reading everyone else's blog posts that are just so interesting and cute and I just don't think I have anything blog worthy to post. So I guess I'll just update you on how our little family is doing so far this year. I did good on most of my new year resolutions for about two weeks and then it all went down hill. But it's never too late to try again! Rayden is really enjoying preschool. He asks me every morning when he wakes up which school he is going to. He actually goes to 2 different schools because of his speech therapy. It was so sad when he was sick for three days and couldn't go. Finally when he was feeling better he woke up and said "Ya I can go to school today!" It was so sad to have to tell him that is was Saturday. He was heartbroken. It makes me feel good to know that he loves school. I guess I better enjoy it now because I know the day will come that he will probably fake sick to stay home.

Ryker is crawling sooooo much. He is even pulling himself up on the brick fireplace. It is pretty scary when he falls and hits his head but he won't stay away from it! I guess it doesn't hurt too bad. He also is becoming so independent! He already wants to feed himself! He hits the spoon out of my hand and just wants to pick up the food with his fingers. I guess I better transition to all finger foods for him!

Randy is really enjoying work. He is spending his days off from work fixing up his parents rental home. He is really excited about it and loves to watch it transform as he fixes it. He likes it so much that he is thinking about our next home being an old "fixer upper". I'm not thrilled at all about the idea so I think I'll do my best to discourage that idea. I think he should spend the time getting his master's degree instead of worrying about fixing up old houses. Luckily I think I still have some time to persuade him.

As for me, I have been spending a lot of my time getting caught up on years of scrapbooking. I just love doing digital scrapbooking. It is so much faster and easier for me. I'll have to post a few of my favorite pages one of these days. I also have been spending a lot of time with Rayden teaching him how to add and subtract and cut and color. We have so much fun together! That is one New Year resolution that I am doing good with. I wanted to spend more time teaching and I think I'm doing an okay job. I wish I could teach him how to read but I just don't know how to start and I just get discouraged! Randy and I want to hold him back from kindergarten a year, so I think I might try and homeschool him for a year if he can't do preschool at the district again. If anyone has any reading ideas please let me know!!!

That is great that Rayden loves school. Hopefully he keeps it up. I agree with you; I couldn't do a fixer-upper, give me a nice new home! Have you had any luck with your MO house? We've had 3 offers come in on ours, so we are hoping to be out soon. We will be renting for a while, which will be hard, but it will be nice to not have quite so much commitment! I hope we get to see you guys soon.

I always look forward to reading your posts! I am always intrigued to read about your fun outings, or the joy of watching your children reach a new milestone. I love hearing about the up's and down's of your life. Of course I would rather hear your experiencing up's but if your are going through down's I am glad that I can at least think about you. Not that that does much good... Sorry.

Sarah,
we haven't had much luck on our house. We just dropped the price significantly and listed it with a different realtor. We really need to move on with our life but we can't do anything until it sells. Are you guys going to build or buy another house?

We are just kind of playing things by ear. We don't want to jump into anything so quickly again (big mistake on this house) so we're just going to rent for awhile and watch the market and see what happens.
